The first two pictures are of clinker formations from temperatures being above the target temperature.

Both pictures are of HEPA filters. The difference between them is that the first picture is from when the temperatures are below 300 degrees C, causing more tar to be produced. The second filter is from when the temperatures were above 700 degrees C.
